VIBRATIONS • We Got the Beat – 9/13/26

We live in confusing times, with so many voices competing for our attention—friends, family, media, culture, and social media. The voices we listen to will influence who we become. As Christ followers, the Holy Spirit is calling us to live a God-honoring life, guiding, directing, and leading us toward the abundant life Jesus promised. The question is, are we in sync with the Holy Spirit? Are we pursuing the heartbeat of God in the small things as well as the big things?

Life hands us many challenges, and much of our day is spent reacting to what we are given. What matters is how we respond. Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Our heart represents our mind, will, emotions, motives, and actions. It determines who we become. When our heart pursues God’s heart, it begins to reflect His heartbeat. But it is easy to follow our own desires, justify what we want, and keep looking for an answer until we find someone who agrees with us.

The truth is, God sees every move. Nothing is hidden from Him. Sometimes the Holy Spirit warns us, but we justify our actions because we want our way more than we want God’s direction. Hebrews reminds us that everything is uncovered before God. There is actually freedom in knowing He already knows. We don’t have to hide or pretend. Instead, we can allow His presence to keep us in check and help us make the right move.

God has also given us His Word for direction and to help purify our hearts. Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training us in righteousness. The Bible is God’s Word, it is the ultimate truth, and we don’t get to pick and choose what we like and don’t like when it comes to the Bible. As we read God’s Word, the Holy Spirit takes those words and brings them alive in us. He points out areas where we need to change and helps us accept, apply, and obey God’s truth.

If we want to get the beat right and live in sync with God’s heartbeat, it begins with surrender. Believe in Jesus. Engage with God’s Word. Accept it as truth. Trust the Holy Spirit to transform you. As we yield our lives to Him, He continues to guide, challenge, and change our hearts and minds. When we follow His leading and apply His Word to our everyday decisions, our lives begin to reflect the rhythm of God’s heart. He has plans for us—plans to give us hope and a future.

Scriptures— Psalm 24:4-5 (CEB); Matthew 5:8 (NRSV); Hebrews 4:13 (NIV); 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV); Proverbs 10:9 (NIV); Philippians 4:8 (NIV); 1 John 2:27 (NLT); 1 Corinthians 2:14 (NIV); Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Verses— All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Ti 3:16-17) But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. (1 Jn 2:27)

Questions— What voices compete most for your attention? How do you know when a voice is leading you away from God’s plan? What does having a “pure heart” mean to you? Have you ever looked for someone to agree with a decision you already made? How did that turn out? Which challenge do you most need to work on: believing in Jesus, engaging with God’s Word, accepting His truth, or trusting the Holy Spirit to transform you?

Prayer – Lord, help me to quiet the voices around me and listen to Your voice. Give me a pure heart that seeks Your heartbeat, and help me trust the Holy Spirit to guide, correct, and transform me. May my life be in sync with your Spirit in everything I do. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
