UNLOCK• The Power Within – 04/26/26

Unlocking the power within begins with understanding your identity in Christ. Many believers still define themselves by their past, their struggles, or their failures, but God’s Word declares something far greater. 2 Corinthians 5:17 reveals that anyone in Christ is a new creation – the old has passed away and all things have become new. This is not symbolic; it is a spiritual reality. Through Christ, your old self was crucified (Galatians 2:20), and your life is now hidden in Him (Colossians 3:30). Your identity is no longer rooted in sin, but in what God says is true about you.

Because of this, you are not trying to become righteous, accepted, or complete – you already are in Christ. Scripture declares that you are the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21), accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6), and complete in Him (Colossians 2:10). Christ now lives in you (Colossians 1:27), which means your life flows from Him, not from your own strength. When you begin to see yourself the way God sees you, your mindset shifts. Instead of identifying with weakness or failure, you begin to walk in truth, confidence, and freedom.

This transformation becomes real as you renew your mind daily. Romans 12:2 teaches that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds, and John 8:32 reminds us that truth brings freedom. As you reject lies and agree with God’s Word, your thoughts – and ultimately your life – begin to change. You are not striving to become a new person; you are learning to live as the new person God has already made you to be. Walk in that truth today and allow His life within you to shape everything you do.

Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20, Romans 6:6, Romans 6:11, Colossians 3:3, Colossians 1:27, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Proverbs 23:7, Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:24, Galatians 2:20, 2 Corinthians 10:5.

Verses: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”   2 Corinthians 2:17-21 NKJV

Questions:  In what ways have I been identifying more with my past than with who God says I am? Do I truly believe that I am a new creation in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17)?  What thoughts or lies do I need to replace with God’s truth today? How would my daily life change if I fully embraced that Christ lives in me?  What practical steps can I take to renew my mind with Scriptures this week?

Prayer: Father God, Thank You for the righteousness You have provided for me in Jesus. Help me to remember that I am love and accepted because of the price Jesus paid for me. When I am tempted to let my past or failures define me, help me to remember who I really am because of who you are in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
