UNLOCK • From Potential to Purpose – 5/3/26
Ephesians 2:10 reveals a powerful truth: your life is not accidental- it is intentional. You are God’s workmanship, His masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus with purpose already built into you. Many believers struggle because they try to earn identity through performance, but Scripture makes it clear that your identity is received, not achieved. You are a new creation, not a repaired version of your old self, and Christ now lives in you. When you understand that you are already accepted, designed, and complete in Him, you stop striving for approval and begin living from it. This shift breaks the cycle of “dead works” and anchors your life in grace.
From that identity flows your potential and purpose. God has already placed within you everything you need for life and godliness, and your assignment was prepared before you were even born. You are not chasing purpose – you are discovering and walking in what God has already established. Purpose is not something you force; it is something you walk out daily through renewing your mind, following the Spirit, and being faithful in the small things. When you align your thinking with God’s truth, your life begins to reflect it. You move from striving to walking, from confusion to clarity, and from potential to purpose.

Questions: Do I truly believe that my identity is rooted in Christ, or am I still trying to prove my worth through performance? In what areas of my live am I striving for approval instead of living from God’s acceptance? Do I see myself as fully equipped in Christ, or do I feel lacking and unqualified? Why? What practical steps am I taking to renew my mind and align my thinking with God’s Word? Where is God calling me to simply “walk” in obedience instead of striving to figure everything out?
Prayer: Father God, thank you for designing me with a purpose. Help me to discover who I am meant to be in Christ. As I come to understand Your plans for me, help me to remember that You have provided everything I need to do whatever You call me to do. I want to be willing and available to be an instrument of Your grace. When I feel you leading me, help me to respond with open hands and an open heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
