UNLOCK• Living Beyond Your Natural Ability – 5/17/26
“When God’s Power Becomes Greater Than Your Limitations”
As we conclude our UNLOCK series, we are reminded of a powerful truth: Christ does not simply call us to improve ourselves—He calls us to live through His power. Every person has limits. There are situations education cannot solve, experience cannot fix, and human strength cannot overcome. Yet the believer carries supernatural potential because Christ lives within us. Jesus said in John 15:5, “Without me ye can do nothing.” He was not speaking condemnation; He was teaching dependency. God never intended for us to carry spiritual assignments with human strength alone. Acts 1:8 reminds us, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” The Holy Spirit empowers ordinary people to live extraordinary lives. When our strength runs out, God’s strength begins to operate.
Grace is more than forgiveness—it is divine empowerment. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God says, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” God’s grace gives us the ability to do what we could never accomplish on our own. Faith then activates that supernatural life. Philippians 4:13 declares, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Faith is not confidence in our abilities; it is confidence in God working through us. We must stop speaking limitation and start agreeing with what God says about us. Zechariah 4:6 reminds us, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” You were never designed merely to survive. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can live beyond your ability, endure beyond your strength, overcome beyond your past, and walk in peace beyond your circumstances. Your limitation is not God’s limitation.

Questions: What area of your life are you currently trying to handle in your own strength instead of depending fully on God?
How have you seen God’s grace strengthen you during a difficult season?
What negative or limiting words do you need to replace with faith-filled declarations?
What would change in your life if you fully believed that God’s power is greater than your limitations?
Prayer: Father God, thank you for being strong in my weakness. I realize that I need your power at work in my life to accomplish the plan laid out for me. When circumstances are difficult, remind me that I can depend on you and your strength to see me through. I thank you God that your spirit lives in me and is working on my behalf. You are a good God and faithful to teach me that it’s not by my might or power, but by your spirit working in and through me which empowers me to overcome. In Jesus’ name, amen.
