LISTEN TO THE MUSIC • Hazy Shade of Winter – 1/21/24

Life is all about times of success, failure, celebration, complaint, possibilities, hopelessness, great gain, and great loss. Life is challenging and has a way of robbing us of our swagger. Seasons change and we have times when the leaves are brown, and we try to simply survive. We also have seasons of progress, growth, the up times when all seems well with the world. As Christ followers we should have more swagger/confidence than anyone. Not cocky arrogance in our own abilities, but confidence in the God we serve…Godfidence. Satan wants to kill, steal, and destroy. Jesus died on the cross and secured victory over sin and our future. Paul says, “I can do all things, through Christ, because he gives me strength. With God, “I CAN!” This is not about our own strength, it’s about God’s power dwelling within us as believers. If you think you can’t, it’s really more about the fact that you won’t. I can do ALL things, through CHRIST. It’s a promise from God. When we study God’s Word, we find hope, guidance, and encouragement, and it strengthens our faith. Faith is confidence in God! You may not understand things, things may be hazy, you may not see all the details, but keep going on the track God has for your life, knowing that in Christ you can have abundant life.

Scripture: For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? (Romans 8:31)

I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)

Questions: Is the season of life you are now in green and growing or hazy and wintery? Why? When have you gone through a dark season in life? How did you break free? What does the term “Godfidence” mean in your Christian walk?

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for your strength that carries me through the darkest times in life. I know that you are with me in every season of life. Help me to face each day and each challenge with Godfidence! In Jesus Name I pray, amen.
