Many believers spend their lives asking God to do something He has already done. We pray for healing, provision, joy, or peace, not realizing that God has already provided everything we need through Jesus Christ. While natural circumstances may seem to contradict this truth, God’s Word declares that His work is complete.
The Bible teaches that God has already given us everything that pertains to life and godliness. Our struggle is not a lack of God’s power or willingness, but a lack of understanding. Too often, Christians fight for victory instead of standing from a place of victory. Jesus did not promise healing, forgiveness, and blessing someday—He purchased them already.
Everything God has provided is now in Christ, and because we are in Christ, it is in us. Healing, provision, love, joy, and peace are not things we must beg God to release; they already reside in our spirit. Faith does not become effective by pleading, but by acknowledging what God has already placed within us.
When Jesus declared, “It is finished,” the work was truly complete. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, and nothing remains undone. God is not waiting to respond to us—we must learn to respond to Him by believing, agreeing with His Word, and receiving what He has already given.
Instead of asking God to move, we must move into agreement with Him. When we stop striving in our own strength and start believing fully in the finished work, faith becomes effective, peace replaces doubt, and God’s provision begins to manifest in our lives.
Scriptures: 2 Peter 1:3, Ephesians 1:3, 1 Peter 2:24, Ephesians 1:19-20, Galatians 5:22-23, Romans 5:5, Philemon 6, John 19:30, 1 John 2:2, Hebrews 13:5
Verses: “According to his divine power he hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” 2 Peter 1:3; “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3.
Questions: When have you found yourself asking God for things He says He has already provided? What does it mean to fight from victory rather than for victory? How does acknowledging what is already in you change the way you pray? Which scripture stood out to you most, and why? What practical steps can you take this week to agree more fully with God’s Word?
Prayer: Father God, Thank You for the finished work of Jesus Christ. Thank You that You have already given me everything I need for life and godliness. Forgive me for striving, begging, or doubting instead of believing and agreeing with Your Word. I choose today to acknowledge every good thing You have placed in me in Christ. I receive Your healing, Your peace, Your provision, and Your love—not because of what I feel, but because of what You have said. Help me to live from victory, not toward it. I rest in the finished work of Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
